Good times for a great cause. Pancreatic cancer is a brutal and merciless disease, and it was a pleasure and a privilege to contribute in a very small way to the wonderful work @pancarefoundation do in an effort to improve the lives of those it affects at their Festival of Sport today. Thanks @ramsayhealthau for inviting me along, and Pancare for an excellent event, that, while sensitive to the suffering this disease causes, also celebrated life, and triumph over adversity, and also@solved the problem of what to get my Mum for Christmas 😉

Thanks very much to the Austin and Northern Surgical Association (ANSA) for an excellent evening, celebrating surgical training and trainees.

Complex problems need complex solutions, and while a trained and caring clinician is a pretty good problem-solving machine, a team of these takes us to the next level @austinhealth_ . What you can’t see here is our gastroenterologist colleagues joining us on line, and a few other hidden team members. These sort of meetings have been standard care in our cancer work for years, increasingly we employ this approach fairly routinely to rare benign conditions as well. #surgery #MDT #achalasia #dysphagia #GORD #esophagus #stomach #teamworkmakesthedreamwork

Yeah, pretty sure forearm day isn’t a thing… but if it was, surgeons would rule!

What an honour and privilege to talk to a brilliant group of anaesthetists and surgeons with special expertise in obesity about advances in our understanding or obesity and it’s treatment. Valuable insights into practical aspects of anaesthesia for higher-risk patients from the other speakers were a real bonus. Thanks to members of @asa_australia for the invitation and the opportunity to represent to teams @austinhealth_ and @darebinweightloss.surgery. Thanks also to Fisher an Paykel for sponsoring an excellent evening.
